Eseguendo un’installazione pulita di Windows 7 o Windows 8.1, vi aspetterebbero centinaia di aggiornamenti da installare. Per questo motivo, a partire da ottobre 2016 Microsoft ha deciso di rilasciare ogni mese un nuovo aggiornamento cumulativo per Windows 7 SP1 e Windows 8.1.

Aggiornamento cumulativo di ottobre 2018
Per Windows 7, Microsoft ha rilasciato l’aggiornamento KB4462923 con il seguente changelog:
- Security updates to Windows Media Player, Windows Graphics, Microsoft Graphics Component, Windows Storage and Filesystems, Windows Kernel, and the Microsoft JET Database Engine.
- Addresses an issue with evaluating the compatibility status of the Windows ecosystem to help ensure application and device compatibility for all updates to Windows.
- Addresses an issue with the diagnostic pipeline for devices enrolled in Windows Analytics when the CommercialID registry key, “HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\DataCollection” is present.
- Addresses a memory leak issue that occurs when a device with a multilingual UI calls the LoadString API.
- Addresses an issue in which all Guest Virtual Machines running Unicast NLB fail to respond to NLB requests after the Virtual Machines restart.
Per Windows 8.1, Microsoft ha rilasciato l’aggiornamento KB4462926 con il seguente changelog:
- Security updates to Windows Media Player, Microsoft Graphics Component, Windows Datacenter Networking, Windows Storage and Filesystems, Windows Kernel, and Microsoft JET Database Engine.
- Addresses an issue with evaluating the compatibility status of the Windows ecosystem to help ensure application and device compatibility for all updates to Windows.
- Addresses an issue with the diagnostic pipeline for devices enrolled in Windows Analytics when the CommercialID registry key, “HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\DataCollection” is present.
- Addresses an issue in which all Guest Virtual Machines running Unicast NLB fail to respond to NLB requests after the Virtual Machines restart.
- Addresses an issue that prevents a DirSync client from completing synchronization when using a search filter that contains a linked attribute, such as “memberOf=CN=Group1,OU=Accounts,DC=Contoso,DC=Com”.
